CAAM confirms KLIA Terminal 1 operations have stabilised

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed that operations at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 had stabilised after a temporary disruption to the Baggage Handling System.

CAAM said the system had been restored and airport operations, including check-in and departures, had returned to normal.

Regulator continues oversight of recovery and compliance

As the aviation regulator, CAAM said it exercised strict oversight of the recovery process.

The authority continued engaging Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad and airlines to ensure operational stabilisation and compliance with applicable safety and service standards.

Baggage handling remains part of airport QoS obligations

CAAM stated that Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad is obligated to comply with established Quality of Service standards.

These include timely and efficient handling of passenger baggage under the relevant airport service requirements.

CAAM will monitor corrective measures

CAAM said it would continue monitoring the situation and ensuring that the necessary corrective measures are taken.

The regulator said the focus remains on maintaining service standards for passengers and airport users.
