CAAM issues Advisory Information 09/2026

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has issued Advisory Information 09/2026 on the implementation of a formal six-month cut-off policy for advance payments received by CAAM.

The policy takes effect on 1 August 2026 and is intended to strengthen financial governance, support consistent and accurate financial reporting, and prevent the accumulation of long-outstanding advance payments.

Policy covers unused or incomplete payments

CAAM states that the policy applies to advance payments where the customer has not utilised or claimed the relevant service, has not completed the related application or submission process, or has not submitted a refund request within the prescribed period.

All advance payments must be utilised against the relevant service or application within six months from the date of payment.

Refund requests must be submitted within six months

Customers who do not intend to proceed with the relevant service or application must submit a formal refund request within six months from the date of payment.

CAAM states that refund requests must be supported by the relevant payment records and any other documents required by CAAM for verification and processing.

Customers advised to complete applications or refunds

CAAM advised customers to regularly review the status of their advance payments, applications and outstanding documentation, and to complete the application process, utilise the payment for the intended CAAM service, or submit a complete refund request within the six-month period.

Any refund request received after the six-month period will not be eligible for consideration or refund. The update is included in Aviation Malaysia coverage of CAAM administrative and regulatory notices affecting aviation stakeholders.
