Long Lellang helicopter crash involved five people
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has confirmed the Long Lellang helicopter crash near the STOLport in Sarawak on 8 September 2026. The aircraft was a BO-105 helicopter registered as 9M-LLF.
The helicopter was operating a Flying Doctor Service flight with five people on board, including the pilot. CAAM received notification from the Flight Information Service at 3:58 pm.
AAIB to investigate the incident
The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, will investigate the incident in accordance with Part XXVI of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016.
