Low-flying aircraft operations Sepang schedule

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has informed the public that low-flying aircraft operations are scheduled over Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and nearby areas in Sepang, Selangor, in conjunction with the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026 in Malaysia.

The operations are scheduled from 30 September to 4 October 2026, between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Members of the public may observe aircraft flying at lower altitudes than usual and are advised not to be alarmed.

Operations coordinated with relevant authorities

CAAM said the operations have been coordinated with the relevant authorities and will be conducted in accordance with applicable safety requirements.

Unauthorised drone operations are prohibited

CAAM reminded the public that unauthorised drone operations in the affected airspace are prohibited during the event because drones may pose a serious risk to low-flying aircraft and people on the ground.

Drone operators must obtain the necessary authorisation before conducting any flight. CAAM said unauthorised operators may be investigated and face enforcement action under the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016 and other applicable laws.

CAAM urged the public and drone operators to observe the restrictions, cooperate with the relevant authorities and keep the affected airspace clear for the safe conduct of aircraft operations.
