Malaysia Aviation Safety Seminar 2026 brings international partners together
The Malaysia Aviation Safety Seminar 2026 (MASS'26) brought regulators, industry leaders and safety experts together in Kuala Lumpur on 10 September. The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) hosted the event with the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and The Boeing Company as strategic partners.
Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook officiated the seminar, themed Advancing Safety Through Technology. The ICAO Council President and ICAO Secretary General attended. It took place in conjunction with the 61st Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation, Asia and Pacific Region (DGCA/61).
Four areas of aviation safety
Discussions covered aircraft technology, safety management, air traffic management and emerging safety issues. Participants considered how automation, digitalisation, advanced aircraft systems, data analytics and safety intelligence could improve risk detection and support predictive decisions.
CAAM highlighted that technology needs effective oversight, skilled personnel, operational readiness, sound regulatory frameworks and a strong safety culture. The authority and its partners also stressed continued international cooperation and knowledge-sharing.
