CAAM issues Advisory Information 08/2026
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has issued Advisory Information 08/2026 on the cancellation of certificates for registration of aerodrome.
The advisory informs aerodrome operators and stakeholders of CAAM's updated policy under the Civil Aviation Act 1969 and the Civil Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) Regulations 2016.
Registration certificates no longer issued
CAAM states that, effective immediately, it will no longer issue the Certificate for Registration of Aerodrome.
The advisory also states that certificates for registration of aerodrome previously issued by CAAM are no longer valid and applicable for regulatory purposes.
Aerodrome operators must hold formal authorisation
Operators, developers and owners of an aerodrome must ensure that the aerodrome has formal authorisation for establishment from the Minister of Transport under Regulation 5 of the Civil Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) Regulations 2016.
Aerodrome operators currently operating and maintaining an aerodrome must hold a valid Certificate of Aerodrome issued by CAAM under Regulation 6. The advisory is relevant to Aviation Malaysia coverage of aerodrome regulatory requirements.
