Malaysia LAE Framework consultation paper published
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has published its consultation paper on the proposed Malaysia Low Altitude Economy Framework.
The paper seeks stakeholder views on a policy and regulatory framework for the safe, secure and sustainable development of Malaysia's Low Altitude Economy.
Four pillars support the proposed national framework
The proposal is organised around Safe Aircraft, Safe Operations, Connected Infrastructure and Thriving Industry, supported by enabling foundations and an implementation roadmap.
CAAM proposes a phased roadmap covering Foundation in 2026-2027, Scaling in 2028-2029 and Regional Leadership in 2030. The framework is intended to support emerging aviation technologies, innovation and long-term industry development while maintaining aviation safety and public confidence.
Consultation seeks evidence-based stakeholder feedback
The paper invites feedback on the proposed definition, strategic direction, regulatory approaches, infrastructure priorities, industry measures, enabling foundations and implementation roadmap.
Responses must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. Malaysia time on 2 September 2026 by email to lae.policy@caam.gov.my or by post to CAAM's Strategy & Transformation Division in Putrajaya. Aviation Malaysia is reporting the consultation from CAAM's official publication.
