National Day Flypast 2026 airspace closure schedule
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) will implement temporary airspace closures within the Kuala Lumpur Terminal Control Area for rehearsals and the National Day Flypast 2026.
The closures are scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on 26 to 28 August, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. for the full rehearsal on 29 August, and from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. for the flypast on 31 August 2026. All times are local.
KLIA flights may be rescheduled
Scheduled aeroplane take-offs and landings at Kuala Lumpur International Airport will be temporarily suspended during the closure periods to support the safe and orderly conduct of the rehearsals and flypast.
Passengers travelling through KLIA during these periods should check their latest flight status and schedule directly with their airline because some services may be rescheduled or otherwise affected.
CAAM prohibits drones in affected areas
CAAM states that all drone and Unmanned Aircraft System operations are strictly prohibited within the affected areas during the rehearsals and National Day Flypast.
Unauthorised drone operations may create serious safety risks for lower-flying aircraft and may lead to enforcement action under the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016. The notice forms part of Aviation Malaysia coverage of official aviation safety updates.
